This tandem skydive near Dallas departs from Ennis Municipal Airport, south of the metro area. The activity is ideal for a first experience of freefall, with a tandem instructor who handles the entire technical part. The airplane flight lets you discover the landscapes of North Texas before the jump, a real first flight before the big jump.

How the jump works

After check-in, a briefing presents the safety instructions and the position to adopt during the jump and in the airplane. Once equipped, the participant boards with the tandem master to reach the planned altitude of around 10,000 ft, with freefall announced at around 45 seconds before the parachute opens, followed by a canopy descent to the landing area.

Views of the landscapes around Ennis and south of Dallas

From the airplane during the climb and then under canopy, the view mainly extends over the area around Ennis Airport and the wide open spaces south of Dallas. Depending on visibility, you can make out Ennis, the roads crossing this part of Texas and, farther away, the Dallas skyline. The interest of this skydive also lies in that contrast between the land around the airfield and the metro area visible in the distance.
