Tandem Skydiving near Phoenix – Departure from Maricopa (12,500 ft or 18,000 ft depending on the option)

This tandem jump takes place in Maricopa, south of Phoenix, with two options depending on the altitude chosen: 12,500 ft or 18,000 ft. In both cases, the jump takes place with a tandem master who handles the entire technical part. The main difference is the jump altitude and the length of the freefall.

How the skydive works

After arriving at the drop zone in Maricopa, the participant watches a safety video and then speaks with the instructor before getting equipped with a harness and freefall goggles. Boarding the airplane then takes place to reach the planned altitude. The 12,500 ft option gives about 50 seconds of freefall at 120 mph, while the 18,000 ft option adds about 80 seconds of freefall with the use of an oxygen mask before the jump.

At around 5,000 ft, the instructor opens the parachute and everything becomes calm again under canopy. The view mainly looks out over the wide open spaces around Maricopa and the landscapes of Arizona south of Phoenix. Landing at the departure location brings this skydive to an end, one that will stay in your memory.
