Description

Tandem skydiving in Garrettsville, near Cleveland

Cleveland Skydiving Center welcomes you at Gates Airport (7D8), north of Garrettsville at 15199 Grove Road, on the grounds used for takeoff and landing. Your jump therefore takes place in northeastern Ohio, from a skydiving center separate from Cleveland’s airports.

A jump from 13,000 feet with equipment included

This tandem skydiving experience includes a jump from 13,000 feet with a tandem skydiving instructor and approximately 30 seconds of free fall. The briefing and all necessary equipment are included, and no prior experience is required.

Cleveland Skydiving Center uses a turbine aircraft for its skydiving operations and also welcomes experienced skydivers at the same airport: your jump takes place as part of the operations of a center dedicated to the sport.

A canopy descent with views of Cleveland, Akron, and Mentor

When visibility is sufficient, Cleveland is one of the cities you can make out in the distance during free fall, with a panorama advertised by the center that also includes Akron and Mentor, three urban landmarks in northeastern Ohio to view from the jump altitude. These are distant views, with no flights over these cities advertised as part of the package, and visibility depends on the conditions that day.

Reuniting with friends and family at the landing zone

You return to the ground in the area next to the hangar at Gates, facing the space where accompanying friends and family can watch the landings. Your friends and family can therefore stay on the grounds during your jump, with a restaurant available on site.

Plan to spend half a day at the center, as weather-related delays can extend your time on site to five hours. A photo and DVD package is available on the day of your jump for an additional charge.
