Tandem Skydiving in Alliance

Skydiving near Canton from Barber Airport

Tandem skydiving takes place in Alliance at Barber Airport, north of the city, where you will find Canton Airsports, established in 1974. The skydiving center houses its reception area, preparation room, and hangar in a single building next to the landing area, so preparation for your first skydive takes place right at this Ohio dropzone.

A jump from 10,000 feet with a landing near the hangar

Departing from Barber Airport, this package includes exiting the plane at 10,000 feet with a tandem instructor and approximately 30 seconds of free fall. After the parachute opens, the descent continues toward the Canton Airsports landing area, located right next to the hangar. Family and friends can wait for your arrival in the center’s designated spectator area.

Views of Berlin Lake and the Mahoning River during the jump

Berlin Lake is among the views advertised by Canton Airsports for its jumps in Alliance. This reservoir is part of the Mahoning Valley, where the winding river provides another landmark to look for from the air as the plane climbs to jump altitude. The panorama also includes Deer Creek Reservoir, a second lake north of the city, surrounded by woods in Stark County.

These two bodies of water and the river’s bends provide specific landmarks to look for during the jump when visibility allows, whether from the plane or during the canopy descent after the jump. You can discover the lake landscapes around Alliance from the sky, with views extending beyond the area surrounding the airport.
